The gem of the compact segment, the Mazda3, now has the next-generation model configurator available !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

There are two powertrains and five trims to choose from initially, and only the 5-door is available: I Sport, I Touring, I Grand Touring, S Touring, S Grand Touring. "I" models designate the 2.0 I4, "S" models have the 2.5L I4. Manual transmissions are only available on the 2.0 I models. Prices start at $18,945 to $26.495 before options and add-ons (at least that's what it is when I loaded it)

I really hope the "Titanium Flash Mica" looks more gold than brown in-person, otherwise we'll have some undeserved fecal references.

I'm still annoyed that I can't get the "Almond" interior on the Blue Reflex Mica, which almost matches my first Mazda's color exactly and looks fantastic. The Deep Crystal Blue Mica is OK, but it doesn't look as unique and doesn't fill my nostalgia requirement. I dislike all-black interiors (even though my Volvo has one), as they're just darker and makes it feel more claustrophobic and cave-like, as well as being hotter in the sun. Lighter tan interiors just feel more open and airy to me.

Before I yell at something...is 26.5k including any option like navigation?

Or does Mazda really just hate people that like nicely trimmed cars?

A GTI 4 door starts at 24.8k...a fully loaded GTI 4 door ends at ~30k (no options at all, its all rolled into the price)

Is Mazda seriously pricing theirs above the GTI?...

Yeah saw pics of that a few days ago, but am withholding my opinion until I see it in person. There's a yellow-brown color for Lincolns (and I think the Taurus) that looks like really dark urine on the website but in person is a shiny brown mustard color, or a dirty bronze. Much better than on the website (but I wouldn't buy it either way).

I also wanted the Blue Reflex Mica color (the kind of blue if have right now with my current Z4) that has an Almond leather interior (like my beige Z4 interior) but they didn't make it available. It's a pity as I like the combination a lot. I will have to shell out $300 more for the Soul Red to get the Almond leather.
